RAC currently operate nine Auto Service Centre’s across the metro area providing servicing, maintenance and repair work to member and non-member vehicles. As one of the fastest growing areas of our business, we are looking for a Master Mechanic or experienced Technician to support our Team Leader and qualified LV Mechanics in our Myaree center.

RAC centres are focused on your safety, working together and providing our members a great experience every time! This role is offered as a full-time permanent basis with ongoing on the job support. Standard hours are 38 - 42 per week, Monday to Saturday (4 hours on Saturday paid at double time).

What will you be doing?

Reporting to the Team Leader you will work as part of a cohesive team to ensure continuity of service and delivery for the centre.  This role provides guidance and support to the team and acts in the Team Leader role during periods of absence.

The main duties:

  • Mentor Mechanics and Apprentices
  • Step up as 2.I.C for the Team Leader
  • Service and repair various types of light vehicles
  • Mechanical and electrical diagnostics 
  • Log and record daily activities and work progress
  • Mentor and guide apprentices  

Every workshop supports our Roadside Assistance partners by servicing and repairing jobs towed in. It exposes you to a variety of challenges in your day and you learn on the job!

What are we looking for in you?

  • Light Vehicle Automotive Technician qualification (Trade qualification)
  • Experience in mechanical servicing, repairs, and fault diagnostic skills
  • C Class Manual Driving License
  • Dedication to your trade and career
